Club Meeting 1165 Mar 2008, Graham MMG TC Owners Club Newsletter from Meetings 1165 - 20th March, 2008 (Produced by Graham Mackie). The author, GLM was the host for 1165 and it was a delight to get two points for driving his car to the meeting without moving an inch. Colin D. please note. He above turned on a beautiful night with a three quarter moon, very gentle breeze, citronella to aromatise and pacify the mozzies . Domino's pizzas parachuted in, party pies and peanuts in the parlour to finish the evening. Only a few regulars were missing and Lou Symes honoured the author with his attendance - a very big welcome was extended as tried to slide by (with great difficulty) unnoticed. Pres JB had a top right hand man in PP Col B. as acting Secretary, in the absence of Chris B. Apologies. Others I heard were Phil W., Ed F., Ivan M.,Tony C., Barry P., Graham R., Patrick R., David R., Mike B., Ed F., Graham A. Visitor was Peter Borham who has acquired a TC, previously owned by Rick Mahoney. The car had been up on blocks in a shed since 1974. (amazingly it still happens). Rick said that the owner insisted that he take all the 'other bits'. (how lucky can you get??!!) Rick is now looking for some advice re restoration and it was suggested by President JB that he speak to everyone for suggestions and then make up his own mind what is right. Rick was given a warm welcome and will look us over in the following month or so. Car Birthdays for the period 20th March to 2nd April were 23rd March YT 2618 Ron H. 25th March TC 2446 Harry & Deidre P. Graham M. said Mike had his own copy of the 'MG's Down Under' video but was unaware if it was being taken with him. The Club History Book. Wally said that Barry Palmer was crunching thru the 70's and is also taking on the 80's, plus other contributions and hopes to run a storyline thru that decade. Wally asked Richard P. if he could do the 80's, but Rich said he had already done the 93-95 era and could only do so if someone paid him to retire. Barry is doing solid work and progress is occurring. Spoke to Chris B. - the minutes have been typed by Chris's wife so at least now easily readable. (no offence Chris) Website.
