(Produced by Graham L. Mackie)

Meeting 1158, held at the  Jaguar Car Club Clubrooms and hosted by Darryl R. was an extremely well attended affair. Heaps of T Types adorned the carpark on a balmy  evening and we were fortunate to have two visitors from NSW, as well as Wes R (where have you been???) and Vic L in attendance.  We sold the last bottle of port and a few calendars and it looks like a full house for the Xmas Party.

Apologies. There were very few. I picked up Richard P., Mary Ann., Wally B.

Visitors.  Ken Connoly and Julian Anderson  (NSW) were welcomed to the meeting.

Previous Minutes were read and accepted, the highlight being Barry P 500th meeting which was once more greeted with sustained applause.

100 Meetings. Clark R., having attended 100 meetings was given a rousing applause.

Second was Colin & Noelene (14)with Morris and Justin Pav (18), followed by John & Joyce B (29) and Peter & Lynley P. (60).

Affiliates winner was Richard & Barbara P., (40) with Ron & Paul next on (83).

Tamworth Natmeet.  Ivan M. has info for anyone considering the trip.

Correspondence. A letter from Patrick, owner of TC8754 from City Beach wishing to join. Some discussion as to whether a previous member. Reported to have a superb TC.

Annual Drive-in Night at Galaxy in Goolelal will be held 19th January. Big roll up encouraged by Col B. Mark the calendar please.

Movie work available for anyone with an HQ Panel Van or a long wheelbase Land Rover. Check with Col B. if you want to be a movie star.

Regalia. Colin D. has bags of it, and would like to lighten the load with an opportunity for members to look at Xmas presents for themselves or others. Hats (30) that have travelled overseas are also available from Secretary Chris B. but attempts to achieve discounts thru competition with Col D. seemed doomed with prices of 1 for $15 or two for $40 quoted. Key Rings available.                                                    Harry P. has sold some more calendars  and continues to get positive feedback. Current stock about 20.

TC's for sale Rob G. mentioned a Frank Johnson TC in Sydney was sold on e Bay for $26.5K. Advice from Ken Connoly was that he had a change of heart and kept the car. It seems that TC's and TD's are selling at twice the price in the UK than here. Another TC in the Hunter Valley currently achieving $20K. but not yet closed off.

Harry P. reported that Rob and Lyn Douglas were halfway across the Pacific to Chile and circulated a map showing the incredible 12,000km route of the trip, across and lengthwise thru South America, eventually arriving in the USA. Skipping Columbia for safety reasons.

Club History. Mike S. reported that work is being done and there is a good chance it can be finished up until the Richard Prior area soon.

Ken Connoly spoke of his life with MG's. Started with Morris Minor. Bought first TC in 1978 in Tamworth – he was under 21 at the time. Sydney Club not strong on TC gatherings. Got 17 together for 50th birthday celebration. Wakefield Park recent event saw in excess of 30 racing TC's and photos were displayed. Ken has been restoring a TC for many years. Now driving a red TC. It was restored for John Laws – has a brake booster under the dash and a JB Steering Box conversion.

Graham M. thanked members for support in attending concerts. Very successful and $5000 donated to the Cure for Life' Brain Tumour Research Foundation.

Next Meeting 1159  - 13th December at Ken and Mary Ann's, South Freo home - bring chairs.
