 Meeting 1213 – 18th  February, 2010

(Produced by Graham Mackie)

Our hosts for Meeting 1213 were the much caught out canoodling by the seaside Grigsby's. They now deserve a break, having also hosted the Cecil Kimber Run BBQ only a weekend before. It was Neville's 100th Meeting – cheers all round.

The garage has grown from what I remembered and the collection appears also to have grown with it. 1 Mini, 1 Mini shell, 1 immaculately restored TC, 1 GT6 Triumph, 1 Grey Nurse shark, 2 bicycles, 1 Bombora surfboard & 5 shovels made me feel tired. The theatre style chairs with comfy seats made for a great meeting and the extras at the end were spot on. Thanks Helen.

Apologies noted were Ralph K, Harry & Deidre.

Visitor Ben Grigsby caught sauntering by.

Minutes of 1212 not available. Unanimous vote taken that Mackie version good enough. Expediency resulted in a decision that they was too long to read out.

Matters Arising gave Morris the task of securing the Trophy from Bruce E. He wasn't to bring his car in the interest of fairness. (Perhaps one day, they will all stay away and I could enter mine. Ed.), Bruce Sharman's talk, Darryl's lousy south of the river experiences, Subs are due all mentioned. Dials look magnificent. Huge thanks to Graham A. Five or six sets available  See Graham.

More on dials. Someone asked if the smaller dials were to be added to give colour consistency.  Darryl will bring disc samples to the next meeting. Can the clock be made to work???. Various opinions expressed why not or 'not for long'.

Instruments. Mike S. said George Tandy did his Tacho and it's very steady. Darryl used Tisco with success.

MG Car Club Fish 'n Chips run was fun. Ernie Little (previous member) has acquired a TF.

Kimber Run – great fun, roundabouts and police but no speed bumps. BBQ great - thanks to Morris P. and the Grigsby's.

Beechcraft Staggerwing (1944) outing quite well attended. Esperance and Mundijong photos emailed. Clark had an opportunity to fly it that day and was impressed. Cruised at 150 to 175 knots. Owner flew 200 missions in Vietnam.
