The Lambies regrettably didn't serve 'lamb' chops for supper but nevertheless it was a hand waving, moonlit, well attended meeting with the Bob Detheridge car on show taking pride of place on the podium. Lots of TC's, TD's, but not one Y Type ??? lined up in the driveway.   BBQ, and picnic tables on the freshly cut lawn made for an ideal sun-setting, full moon rising start to a very late start meeting (9.30pm).  John L. conducted a guided tour of his marron pond in the creek and showed his stockpile of TC parts brought back from a recent trip east.

Visitor Bob Smyllie of the Riley Club – a close neighbour of the Lambies had been, but left prior to the meeting.

Apologies noted were from Harry and Deidre, Kevin McM, Col and Noelene, Steve P, Ron M.

Minutes of 1183 were read and accepted. The concours of 2 February was mentioned

Old Farts Lunch at Jane Brook Winery was well attended – two tables of about 16 starters. Ralph expressed dismay at the menu which allowed only share plates of salad, cheeses etc – not good value for money. Menu had changed.

Next Old Farts Lunch - 2nd February to be hosted by Graham A.

Xmas Party - 13th December at Maida Vale starts at 6pm for a 7.30pm catered meal. BYO drinks.

Life's a T Type. Graham M. noted that the silence had been deafening since his email asking members to prepare a story of their life with MG's.  He is happy to pull it together if members wish to pursue, but will not do so if no one is keen. General acceptance noted and and Graham given the OK to hound MEMBERS until results obtained.    OK fellows – get started – a christmas gift of your story to GLM will be all I ask . Gift wrapping not necessary but emailed desired to avoid retyping.

Correspondence In. Lots of magazines plus promotion  - Lumley Special Vehicle Insurance   Correspondence Out. To John L.  John indicated he was still unhappy with club decision and would leave it for now but may raise it again next year. Pres JB explained once more our position.

General Business.

Chittering Bike Collection. Talk of a visit to  in the future.

John L. advised that he bought his first TF on 8th December, 1968 – just 40 years previously. He also advised he had taken on the role of Secretary of the Porsche 356 Group  and he and Karin had driven to Melbourne to attend the 60 years event since Dr. Porsche had started business. He won a trophy for the furthest travelled to the event, altho' he attended in a borrowed Porsche from a Torquay friend. He visited KAS Sheet Metal in Ballarat who are making T Type and Austin Healey gear. The 356 event was a Friday Cocktail Party, Saturday Trial thru the Dandenong's ending at George Hertel's 25 acres  of manicured gardens and a scenic railway run. Entered a shed where there were rows of magnificent cars including three that go to UK for the London Brighton Rally. There were 160 356's on display.

On the way home picked up a trailer to bring home TC bits including panels, crankshafts, TC Engine 10102. He was queried as to how many from WA might attend both Adelaide and Geelong Natmeets. Drove 1200 kms last leg home. Fuel was $1.67 on way over and $1.46 way back.. Saw a fibre glassed bodied Porsche built in Argentina  in the Perron time that was one of 3 left in the world. 141 built, then burnt by next political regime.

300 Meetings  on 13th November. Tony C. congratulated once more. Now off the list.

Tony related his experience of buying new pistons thru Col B.

Early Morning Run 11 January. Mike S. asked if the Prewar people could join us on the run. Approved  - perhaps they may wish to organise it.??? JB suggested we may wish to visit Laurie Galloway in Pinjarra  but after discussion thought best to make it part of a later Garage Tour..

John H TC blower very neat installation says Mike S. 1.4/ 1 working well after 1 to 1 trial.

Rob G. has cured a pedal rattle by buying relatively cheaply some neoprene tube from Anthony Leece of Welshpool.
